The Thessaloniki Tomato is a classic heirloom variety known for its rich flavor, productivity, and resilience. The medium to large fruits typically weigh 6–8 ounces and have a round, smooth shape with a deep red color. The flesh is firm and juicy, offering a well-balanced, sweet-tart flavor with a slight acidity, making it perfect for slicing, fresh eating, or making sauces.
Indeterminate plants grow to 5–6 feet tall, producing a steady yield of high-quality tomatoes throughout the growing season. These plants thrive in full sun and benefit from consistent moisture to ensure optimal fruit production. Staking or caging is recommended to support the plants and their heavy fruit load.
